Chrome Aces

Chrome has created something spectacular. Thanks to their guidance and generosity, a project was assembled and executed to support the Bicycle Messenger Emergency Fund (BMEF). The BMEF is a fund that exists within our community to assist those legitimately injured on the job as they cope with their necessary financial burdens. Most companies do not offer worker's compensation or any assistance to those injured on the job so they have to turn to the community for help to pay the bills. We are all anxious to help and we do so with the best resources we can.

Thanks to the help of Chris Diltz of Killing Machine Apparel and Augie Montes of the 4 Star Courier Collective, Chicago was named the Diamond City.

It is an incredible effort and with your support we can all get some amusement and a little enjoyment out of helping the fund grow. Each deck is a non-negotiable $10 and all proceeds will be used to meet a goal for the National Relief fund and then turned to go into a Local Relief Fund.

This just got real scary. Seriously. I've got goosebumps typing this. Cuttin' Crew just grew from something to fear on the street scene to something above and beyond. Come on, you knew this was coming, ya'll had to expect this one too. Damn, it's still crazy when these things actually happen... Cat 3 on the road playing domestique? Probably the most underrated 4 on the track ever? This just went from punking everyone on the race scene to a straight up campaign! Chicago has just awoken to a new day. Be proud to be a part of this street scene, let alone any street scene. We're going to be out there putting you on the radar. Shit. Do I still have to say his name? I'll give you some hints...Orange jersey. Big ass smile. Silver tooth... If you don't know him by now, you've been walking or driving way too much.

Well, it's been on everyone's mind lately so we might as well come on out with it...

Brean has officially joined the Chicago Cuttin' Crew. No two ways about it. Your boy Bre is going to add experience, guidance, talent, tenacity, killer race resume, punctuality, uh, sarcasm, um, red hair, and, oh yeah, he does have his mature demeanor to contribute to the team.

We're damn proud and very glad to have him.

Oh, and one more thing...

In case you haven't gotten sick of him yet, Jeff just helped put together some more reading material. Luke over at chicagobikeracing.com set up an interview to get personal. In the midst of it, Jeff shared a quick scoop on the Crew, it's background and some tidbits on riding in Chicago.

Eyes and heads are turning to find out what's going on here in the Windy City and we don't intend to disappoint.

One quick favor to ask from you locals. If the next time you happen to see Jeff and he's on State street preaching anymore of the good word please finally take the mic away from him. In other news Maxwell has his cast off and is LOVING it! It's nice to see everyone rolling again, welcome back Max!

It's Official

Our friends at Punk Rock Cycling are the inspiration for acting like little kids on Christmas. It is refreshing to know we not only exist in spirit but also on paper. It's cool to see this crew become an officially recognized body in the world of sanctioned racing. All we gots to say now is, it's ON people.

How fitting is it that we are number 13 on the list?

Return of the Max!

Maxwell has been missing his bike for quite some time now. He won't whine about it but it's killing him that he can't join us in the races. This weekend he won't be in attendance for the Stuporbowl because he will be getting his cast removed. Piece of hubcap: 1. Max's collarbone: 0.

Jokes on debris because Mr. Riordan is about to bounce back in a blaze of glory!

We might be looking to add BMX to our repertoire if Max has to go one more day on Ben's GT...
