Andrew is having a rough time lately. If you can recall, he took a mean spill at Hillsboro-Roubaix but came back smiling and cowbellin’.
Well, now he’s bouncing back after hitting the bricks in the finishing straightaway last weekend at the Great Dane Crit #2. What did he do after the accident? After cracking his helmet? After he trashed his bike, shoulder, back, hip, knee, shin, elbow, wrist, hand, everything except his eyelids? He hopped up and shouldered the bike and he ran a few hundred meters to cross the finish line. Poor guy seems to have a hex on him yet he refuses to succumb to frustration or pain. Besides being absolutely stupid fast, this is what this Andrew is all about.
The results page never tells the big story man. We’re proud of you, good luck in those showers and shoulderin’ that bag all week.

These photos are not for the faint of heart but, if you’re so inclined, check out what your boy Andrew is dealing with. It’s a reminder that helmets are good ideas…

Jeebus, Andrew!
You can order tegaderm in 8″x10″ sheets… ask the pharmacists at Jewel and they can have it in a day or 2.

Wow that is bad…but I think it will take more than this to keep you down.
Good luck with healing quickly, and such!

Heal up and stay hardcore!
Hopefully, your run of bad luck is just about over. To test that, go for a flyer and see if you can lap the field. Bet you can.

Andrew, good seeing you on the street last month. I too am glad to hear you didn’t break anything, and running the bike through the finish deserves congratulations of the highest order. I took a spill on Halsted shortly after running into you and wasn’t so lucky-broke my shoulder blade in three. I would love to come and see a race. Hit me back and let me know when you will be in one next.

andrew…i was just jazzin’ you about the jersey. good job on the whole being a man about it and picking up your bike to make it across the finish line. i personally would’ve started crying and waited for someone to carry me all the way back home…at this point i would swear to never race again…but thats me…peace.
