Congratulations go out to Andy and Nick for organizing and pulling off yet another incredible event. Props to the hundreds of people who went and hugs for the elite few that volunteered. A special thanks for making a map that is readable on the back of the manifest!
Stuporbowl XI saw two of the top three out of town spots get snatched up by the Cuttin’ Crew. 1st place outta towner went to Jeff and 3rd place was taken by Andrew. Expect a 74 page race report from Jeff on this one but please have patience. MPLS showed out and he’s still hungover.

Stuporbowl X1 was definitely one for the books as the CCC made their mark. As Candles were blowin out on my recent birthday, Andrew took 3rd out of towner, and my wish came true with Rooster taking first out of towner. Congrats Jeff.
I however came to the sad realization along with Augie, that we are no longer the speed demons that we once were. Sure we still cut our lines and evade death better then most of our comrades, but we are now fully grown boys that are fat, ugly, out of shape and slow. With that in mind, I tried to stay optimistic and think back to the story of the turtle and the hare. I noticed myself getting gobbled by small packs from what I thought was one of my better starts, along the way to the first check point. After my second wind finally kicked in, and I slowly and steadily worked my way through the NE side of town, and well into the sister city, I noticed that my consistent 10mph pace was paying off a little and I wasn’t making mistakes like those fast kids. I was well ahead of my host, who was tearing it up on a tandem, and even compared the amount of checkpoints completed while at Big V’s to some of the other locals who were in contention for hitting all the drink stops. Yet in the end realization slapped me in the face, and I had to recognize and accept that winning is not an option anymore, only survival.
So to take the coward’s way out, I gotta throw in there that I did have a blast, despite my piss poor showing, and that having fun and reminiscing with the old crew and new alike was just as much fun as winning a Chrome bag. Minneapolis is always a great city to “ride bikes, drink beer, and fuck shit up” as Redwine puts it.
All in all, to answer the question that the ravishing young man in the warming tent behind the after party spot asked while eagerly trying to give me a bj, Yes the bulges are reserved for members only. Thanx for a great time MPLS Eagle and Chicago Cuttin Crew. I’ll see you in August.
